Angry Birds are really angry!

IMANGI STUDIOS is probably pretty proud of itself today, as it's latest creation Temple Run 2 has beat Angry Birds' download record.
On Thursday the developers announced that the game, which sees you running around cliffs - as Damian Lewis in Homeland, we like to imagine - avoiding drops, obstacles and monkeys, we think, has been downloaded 50 million times since its release on 17 January.
This makes the Temple Run sequel the fastest downloaded mobile app of all time, besting the previous record set by Rovio's Angry Birds, which was download 50 million times in 35 days. It also means that Imangi Studios has seen 3.85 downloads day, 160,000 an hour, 2,671 a minute and 45 every second.
"Temple Run has evolved into something so much bigger than us," said Keith Shepherd, co-founder of Imangi. "The game has performed beyond our wildest dreams, and we are thrilled that gamers and fans have embraced Temple Run 2 in such a short period of time."
The original Temple Run game, which was a paid for app, has reached 170 million downloads in total, and given that its successor is available as a free download, this record is likely to be beaten in the coming weeks.
Temple Run 2 is available to download from the iTunes Store, Google Play and the Amazon App Store. µ
